Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Leader to join our team in Hickory, NC. The role requires supervising phlebotomy staff, providing coverage across sites, and maintaining high standards of patient service and safety.

The position involves travel, site inspections, training, and coordination with supervisors to optimize workflow. A phlebotomy certification and a valid driver's license are preferred, with opportunities for growth within Labcorp’s nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3 years experience as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties.
• Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites.
• Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor.
• Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings.
• Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed.
• Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary.
• Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs.
• Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner.
• Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and making schedule adjustments as needed.
• Promote team work, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers.
• Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday hours will vary from 6:00am - 6:00pm

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 3 years experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortably working under minimal supervision
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
