Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our Chesapeake, VA team. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–7:00pm with possible weekend calls depending on client needs.

The role supervises 25+ phlebotomists across Patient Service Centers and physician offices, manages operations, and coordinates staffing and performance. Leadership, reliability, and excellent patient service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of phlebotomy experience.
• Minimum 1 year in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 25+ phlebotomists in Patient Service Centers or offices.
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory and logs.
• Monitor productivity and report deviations.
• Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules.
• Handle payroll, schedules and performance appraisals.
• Partner with HR on employee relations and disciplinary actions.
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill positions.
• Communicate with patients, client staff, sales, logistics and management.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and clients.
• Assist in setting up new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices.
• Resolve patient or client issues.
• Collect and prepare specimens; travel to additional sites as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 7:00pm with possible weekend calls depending on client needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of (25+) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
• Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
• Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
• Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
• Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
• Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
• Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
• Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
• Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
• Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
• Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
• Travel to additional sites as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years or more relevant experience as a phlebotomist
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership position

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree
• Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and team coordination

Additional Job Standards

• At least 21 years’ old and have a Valid Driver's License
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
• At least 21 years of age
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

Quarterly Incentive Bonus Program

PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $50,000-$110,000 All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
