Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford is seeking a phlebotomy technician to join the evening shift. You will obtain blood specimens, process laboratory samples for clinical analysis, and provide patient information to care teams.

The role covers Inpatient, ER, Mt Sinai and processing area, with 2nd shift 32 hours from 2:00 to 10:30 pm, rotating weekends and holidays. Candidates should have a high school diploma and laboratory or clinical office experience.

You would be responsible to obtain blood specimens, to process laboratory specimens for clinical analysis and to provide patient information to the appropriate care giver. Position will cover Inpatient, ER, Mt Sinai and processing area. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.

What will you do:

Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods

Labels all specimens following laboratory policy

Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens

Position will cover Inpatient, ER, Mt Sinai and processing area

Work Hours/Shift

2nd shift 32 hours 2-1030 pm, rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Laboratory experience, specimen processing preferred; or clinical office experience with medical terminology
• National Certification preferred

Pay Range

$18.70 - $28.06

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
