Friendly Faces Senior Care is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in the greater Houston area. You will draw blood samples for laboratory testing while ensuring patient comfort and safety, and you will explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to HIPAA-compliant documentation. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy training preferred.
  • National certification as Phlebotomist preferred but not mandatory; must be obtained within specified time after hire if not certified.
  • Prior phlebotomy experience preferred but entry-level considered.
  • Strong communication and meticulous record-keeping required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort.
  • Label specimens accurately and maintain documentation per HIPAA.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and proper storage.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Transport specimens to the laboratory as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
