Job summary

Labcorp in Cicero/Chicago, IL is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. This role involves blood collection by venipuncture and capillary methods across age groups, specimen handling, data entry, and patient service.

You may travel to additional sites and perform clerical duties as needed. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or training, or 3+ months experience; Spanish bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification or training, or 3+ months experience as a phlebotomist.
• Preferred: 1 year+ phlebotomy experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• In lieu of work experience, certification from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Cicero and Chicago, IL

Work Schedule/Locations:

• Mondays 11:30am-7:00pm- Cicero, IL
• Tuesdays/Wednesdays 9:00am-6:00pm- 2701 W. 68th St, Chicago, IL
• Fridays 8:30am-5:00pm- Cicero, IL
• Saturdays 7:30am-4:00pm- Cicero, IL

Job Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience with pediatric and geriatric patients

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred

Phlebotomist will work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Pay Range: $17.75 - $24.50 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
