Job summary

NEW MEDICAL HEALTH CARE is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens from patients and to schedule and advise on tests. The role requires competence in venipuncture for both pediatric and adult patients and maintaining strict specimen labeling and confidentiality.

The position involves Saturday shifts, coverage at nursing homes, and collaboration with management to achieve laboratory goals while delivering high-quality patient service in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Phlebotomy certification course or in house phlebotomy certification.
  • High School Education or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of medical laboratory terminology helpful.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain good judgement when handling sensitive and personal information.

Job description

Role:Collect blood and other patient specimens. Schedule and advise patients for special laboratory tests and procedures. Distribute laboratory reports and assist with writing or updating laboratory procedures.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Maintain a professional and friendly atmosphere for patients and coworkers.Abide by all lab/clinic policies and procedures.Achieve competence in both venipuncture procedures for both pediatric and adult patients.Maintain patient confidentiality.
