Job summary

ICFAI is seeking a qualified phlebotomist to perform phlebotomies and special collection procedures for patients from neonates to geriatric, as well as employees. The role requires accurate specimen collection to support reliable test results and includes department registration and clerical duties with access to patient information.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS Certification required through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Completed phlebotomy training course or substantial phlebotomy experience in healthcare setting.
  • 1–2 years' experience in a laboratory, hospital, or doctor’s office with phlebotomy preferred.
  • Current certification from ASCP, ASPT, or National Phlebotomy Association on hire.

  • Perform phlebotomies and special collection procedures for patients of all ages.

May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities

Shift: PRN

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required through American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
  • Must have successfully completed a phlebotomy training course through a community college, hospital-based training program, or have significant relevant experience working as a phlebotomist in a health care setting to have gained theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to perform these duties in this hospital setting.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a laboratory, hospital, or doctor’s office with some phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Must have a current certification from a national accrediting agency such as ASCP, ASPT, or National Phlebotomy Association upon hire.
  • Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from approved organization
