Job summary

Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Phlebotomist PRN to perform blood collection and specimen processing in a fast-paced hospital setting. Under supervision, you will collect samples, label them accurately, and handle basic clerical tasks to support patient care.

The role requires phlebotomy training, potential certification, and a willingness to work weekends. Hospital experience and teamwork are highly valued for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Phlebotomy Course/Program required.
• Phlebotomy certification highly preferred, but can obtain once hired.
• One year of experience needed highly preferred.
• Minimum 8-10 sticks per hour.
• Open weekend availability for PRN.
• Hospital experience is highly preferred.
• Looking for trainable candidates with good experience and the ability to work as a team.
• Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
• Draw blood specimens from patients by finger sticks, heel sticks or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
• Label specimens for identification and enter data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
• Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Laboratory Phlebotomist performs collections of blood samples and specimens efficiently and appropriately following hospital and departmentstandards and policies. Under the supervision of a Medical Technologist, the Phlebotomist may also performs routine technical functions, CLIA waived analyses and quality control.
