Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist for our Primary Care team in Sonora. You will navigate the EMR to enter orders and results, collect specimens, and support patient scheduling and communication.

This role requires a high school diploma, phlebotomy certification if less than one year of experience, and BLS within 90 days. You will perform point-of-care testing and handle specimens per protocol to ensure patient safety and accurate results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience required.
• Phlebotomy certification required if less than 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• BLS via the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Navigates the electronic medical records system to determine and enter provider orders, enter laboratory results and complete a patient appointment.
• Collects blood, urine, feces, and other bodily fluids for analysis using appropriate techniques.
• Correctly labels, stores, or discards specimens according to protocol.
• Performs point of care testing as outlined in the procedure.
• Obtains patient medication history and fasting status as needed.
• Answers telephones and responds to inquiries regarding patient orders.
