Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect, register, and process patient specimens at multiple sites in Geneseo, NY. You will follow strict patient identification procedures and may perform EKGs as needed.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, labeling, processing, and data entry across various locations. Requires strong customer service and adherence to infection control protocols. Full-time, 40 hours per week, some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and less than 1 year of phlebotomy experience required or graduation from a phlebotomy training program required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology/anatomy preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with patients.
• Verifies patient demographics and reviews orders.
• Performs venipuncture and processes specimens following protocols.
• Labels specimens and prepares them for transport.
• Maintains equipment and supplies and participates in QA initiatives.
