Job summary

Hire Up Staffing is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 13-week assignment on the Mendocino Coast, CA. The role involves collecting blood specimens via venipuncture and finger sticks, verifying specimen IDs, and preparing samples for testing.

You will work with lab staff and physicians to ensure accurate results, perform quality controls, and maintain strict safety and documentation practices. Requires HS diploma, 2 years of phlebotomy experience, CPT license, BLS, and Cerner knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Knowledge of Cerner information systems.
• CPT license and BLS certification required.
• Ability to pass medical screenings and background checks.
• Vaccination requirements applicable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Verify specimen IDs and sample type/volume for testing.
• Process samples with aseptic technique and prepare paperwork.
• Communicate with patients to obtain information and explain procedures.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth lab workflow.
