Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Columbus, GA team in a Casual/Per Diem capacity. Responsibilities include venipuncture and capillary collections across all ages, specimen handling, data entry, and travel to additional sites as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a phlebotomy certification or training. Two years of phlebotomy experience is preferred, with potential for flexibility based on site requirements.

• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Work Schedule

This is a Casual/Per Diem position; hours will be "as needed" and the start and end times will vary.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
• 2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
