Job summary

Labcorp in West Columbia, SC is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques, collect specimens for various tests, and provide excellent patient service.

We offer a Monday–Friday schedule with rotating weekends, opportunities for growth, and comprehensive benefits. A high school diploma and phlebotomy certification or training are required, with preference for those with phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3+ months experience as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency preferred in lieu of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug tests, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain logs for patient and specimen information.
• Provide superior patient service and support to the team.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in West Columbia, SC.

We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with rotating weekends

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
