Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Euclid, OH is seeking a Phlebotomist I to perform specimen collection and support diagnostic workflows. Shifts include Tue and Thu 9:00a–5:00p with an additional weekend 7:00a–12:00p schedule, reflecting a part-time to full-time mix depending on staffing needs.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, adherence to procedures, and clear English communication. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred; training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screening.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify orders using lab systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required according to policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics/data submission when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs including maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete training courses timely.

Phlebotomist I - Euclid, OH, Tuesday and Thursdays 9:00a-5:00p (every weekend 7a-12p)

Pay range: Minimum of $20.00+ per hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

Job Accountabilities (Responsibilities)

• Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, Client contact, and approved tools.
• Ability to navigate a computer and accurately enter data is a requirement to be successful in this role.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Processing specimens including: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform all non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and utilizing email as appropriate.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in person training courses timely.

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
