Job Overview
Phlebotomist responsible for drawing venous, arterial, and micro blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients, transporting specimens and test requests to the laboratory, and returning completed test results to patient areas. Performs standard venipuncture procedures and supports laboratory operations in accordance with quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Performs standard venipuncture procedures within acceptable limits.
- Demonstrates accuracy, precision, and conscientiousness in performing procedures.
- Maintains an organized and neat work environment.
- Promotes effective customer relations and a positive work environment.
- Coordinates patient care or department-related communications among laboratory associates.
- Participates in quality monitoring and evaluation, implementing measures to meet hospital, DNV, and other quality standards.
- Identifies opportunities for self‑development and enhances professional competency.
- Applies and supports departmental/hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adheres to laboratory dress code and environmental safety factors related to patient care.

Education / Formal Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
- Technical Degree or Diploma in Phlebotomy (Required).
Work Experience Requirements
- Preferred: Prior phlebotomy work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in performing venipuncture and arterial punctures.
- Basic arithmetic calculation ability.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions.
- Verbal communication skills with associates, patients, and physicians.
- Task organization and maintenance of workflow control.
