Esse Health is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant for the St. Charles Complete Care office. The role centers on performing lab draws and supporting clinical duties across the outpatient setting.

Ideal candidates bring phlebotomy experience, MA training, CPR certification, and a patient-first approach. Daily tasks include vital signs, EKGs, ear cleanings, and charting in NextGen EHR to support a high-quality care team.

Qualifications

• At least one year of phlebotomy experience.
• Previous MA/Lab Assistant/CNA/PCT/Phlebotomist experience.
• Maintain positive office image and upbeat attitude with patients and coworkers.
• Formal training from an accredited MA, CNA or Phlebotomy program is preferred but not required.
• CPR Certification.
• Prioritize patient comfort and satisfaction.
• Strong communication with physicians, coworkers and departments.

Responsibilities

Join Our Team:

We are searching for a full-time Lab Assistant/Medical Assistant for our St. Charles Complete Care office located at 1551 Wall Street!

The main responsibility of this position will be to perform lab draws on patients. However, the Lab Assistant/Medical Assistant will float to cover additional clinical responsibilities in the office.

• Full-time opening
• Monday - Friday
• Outpatient clinical practice

Day-to-Day:

• Perform lab draws/phlebotomy
• Point of care testing
• Communicate test results to patients
• Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
• Perform in-office procedures such as EKG's and ear cleanings
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen)
• Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team

Who we are seeking (preferred):

• At least one year of Phlebotomy experience.
• Previous experience as an MA, Lab Assistant, CNA, PCT or Phlebotomist.
• The Lab Assistant/Medical Assistant is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
• Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant, CNA or Phlebotomy program (preferred, not required).
• CPR Certification.
• Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
