Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers in Mableton, GA invites a compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. You will work directly with blood donors, providing a welcoming experience and helping us maintain a safe blood supply for the community.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, flexibility for varied schedules, and strong customer service. Training is provided for automated blood collection equipment, with opportunities for growth in a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license with eligibility to drive for LifeSouth.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to make donors comfortable.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support coworkers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accuracy while performing multiple responsibilities.
  • Reading and following procedures; prior customer service experience preferred.
  • CDL holders are preferred, with additional compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming, positive experience for blood donors while helping support LifeSouth’s mission.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect blood from donors per LifeSouth procedures and safety standards.
  • Conduct donor screenings, including interviews and physical assessments, to determine eligibility.
  • Register donors and accurately document information throughout the donation process.
  • Learn to operate automated blood collection equipment and perform apheresis procedures after training.
  • Ensure donors are accurately identified at every step of the donation process.
  • Educate donors about donation options and help identify opportunities for automated donations when appropriate.
  • Support donor recruitment and retention by encouraging future donations and assisting with scheduling.
  • Collaborate with team to create a safe, efficient and positive donation experience.
