Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital Waterbury, CT is seeking a Full-time Phlebotomist for the evening shift. You will perform venipuncture, label specimens, and process orders in a fast-paced hospital laboratory.

Requires a high school diploma; 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred; National Phlebotomy Certification preferred; must train in EPIC on day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care or acute care setting preferred.
• National Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Must be able to train in EPIC on day shift.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and perform venipuncture using standard methods.
• Label all specimens following laboratory policy.
• Receive/cancel orders and process laboratory/microbiology specimens.

What You Will Do

• Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
• Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
• Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens

Work Hours/Shift

• 40 hrs, evenings shift; e/o weekend & rotating holidays

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma.
• Certification: Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care or acute care setting.
• Must be able to train in EPIC on day shift
