Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist III Float in Cumming, GA. This role requires traveling to patient service centers and doctors’ offices to collect blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing, with mentoring responsibilities for new staff.

You will cover a territory, ensure accurate data entry, and support billing processes while adhering to established procedures and quality standards. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
• Five years phlebotomy experience required across pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• English communication ability required.

Job description

Phlebotomist III Float – Cumming, GA

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends.

As a Phlebotomist floater you will shift frequently to new patient centers and continually meet new people. You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for lab testing, collect specimens according to established procedures, enter billing information, coach and mentor new employees, and provide regular input to group lead.

Responsibilities

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as business needs dictate.
• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
• Coach, mentor, instruct, and be a resource advisor for new employees; serve as point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
• Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites when needed.

Qualifications

• Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Work Experience:
  • Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Pay

Pay range: $24.04+ per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
