Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Phlebotomist III - Float in South Plainfield, NJ. This role offers a dynamic float schedule with a Monday–Friday window and Saturday rotation, performing varied phlebotomy duties across patient service centers and providers.

The ideal candidate has five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections, with a HS diploma and phlebotomy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years phlebotomy experience required including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training or phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Cover phlebotomy duties within a PSC or doctor’s office as needed.
• Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for testing.
• Collect specimens per procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
• Coach and mentor new employees; liaison with group lead or supervisor.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.

LOCATION: South Plainfield, NJ

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday available between 6:00AM-6:00PM plus Saturday rotation

Pay range: $26.00 - $31.03 / hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as business needs dictate
• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing
• Collect specimens according to established procedures.This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required
• Will be required to coach, mentor, instruct, and be a resource advisor for new employees, as well as be the point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor
• Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites when needed

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
