Job description

Phlebotomist II Site Lead – Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotational weekends.

Pay range: $23.70 – $26.20 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Applicants must hold a state phlebotomy license. (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV.)

Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  • Administer oral solutions according to established training.
  • Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
  • Complete data entry requirements, including patient registration and test orders; manage standing orders.
  • Enter billing information and collect payments when required; safeguard assets and credit card information.
  • Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
  • Perform departmental clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answering phones.
  • Comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures; ensure staff follows instructions.
  • Verify patient demographic information and signatures, ensuring correct labeling of tubes.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs.
  • Complete training courses and stay current with phlebotomy techniques.
  • Attend territory manager meetings as needed.
  • Participate on special projects and teams.
  • Stay updated on company communications and distribute technical information.
  • Perform point‑of‑care testing at required sites; complete training/competency evaluations per SOP.
  • Mentor and support new employees, assisting their transition into the PSC environment.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and report shortages to leadership.
  • Prepare schedules for the assigned workgroup or PSCs.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to resolve issues and document critical problems.
  • Ensure staff follows safety protocols, wearing clean lab coats, gloves, and face shields as required.
  • Assist supervisors with implementing SOPs for phlebotomy services per Quest guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, well‑maintained facility; report necessary repairs to leadership.
  • Serve as coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees and staff on‑site.
Qualifications

Required Work Experience:

  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible and available for weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
  • Ready to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments.
Physical And Mental Requirements
  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–40 lbs; >40 lbs requires assistance).
  • Stand or sit for long periods; perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand.
  • Travel required.
  • Extensive use of phone and PC.
  • Fine dexterity, talking, walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.
Knowledge
