Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the process of venipuncture clearly and politely.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol.
