Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Palm Beach Gardens, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist II Float. The role covers a territory of patient service centers with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule and rotating weekends.

You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and travel to site locations as needed, while mentoring new staff and supporting group leads. You will join a diverse team in a dynamic environment with opportunities to learn, grow and advance in a Phlebotomy career.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in some states.
• Three years phlebotomy experience required.
• Two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as needed.
• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prep specimens for lab testing.
• Collect specimens per established procedures including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
• Coach, mentor, and be a resource for new employees; serve as on-site contact and provide input to supervisor.
• Travel to additional doctor’s offices or Patient Service Center sites as needed.

Pay range: $22.36+ per hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as business needs dictate
• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing
• Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required
• Will be required to coach, mentor, instruct, and be a resource advisor for new employees, as well as be the point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor
• Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites when needed

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
