Phlebotomist II Float – Locations & Shift
Covering Torrington, Winsted, Thomaston, Watertown, Waterbury and New Milford Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM – 7:00 PM, with rotational weekends.
Job Summary
As a Phlebotomist floater, you will provide blood‐draw services across multiple patient centers, adapting quickly to varying environments and patients. You will mentor new staff, support billing and documentation, and maintain high quality and safety standards.
Pay & Benefits
Hourly pay: $21.84 – $24.14 (based on skill, experience, and certifications). Eligible for annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities
- Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor's office, or as business needs dictate.
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
- Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, housing exams, etc.).
- Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
- Coach, mentor, instruct, and be a resource advisor for new employees; serve as point of contact to on‑site staff and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
- Travel to additional doctor's offices or Patient Service Center sites when needed.
Qualifications
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.
