Job Overview

Phlebotomist II - Wall Township, NJ

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with rotational Saturday 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Pay range: $19.41 - $29.12 per hour. Salary offers are based on skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training protocols.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data, a requirement for success in this role.
• Obtain identification, accurately enter billing information, and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform all non‑patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency (maintenance logs and temperature logs).☆
• Complete online and in‑person training courses timely.

Qualifications

• Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
