Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Annapolis, MD seeks a Phlebotomist II to join our team. The role involves collecting specimens, processing samples, and supporting patient services with attention to accuracy and safety.

The schedule includes Monday 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday–Friday 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with a rotating Saturday shift. Pay ranges from $23.20 to $24.90 per hour, plus eligible performance bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry proficiency.
• Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license; clean driving record if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens following established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screening.
• Administer oral solutions per training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments as mandatory.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required.
• Perform non-patient-facing duties: inventory, supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs on time, including maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses on schedule.

• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; mandatory in CA, NV, WA.

Must communicate effectively in English.
