Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist I in Middletown, CT. The role runs Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM with every other Saturday 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Pay range is $21.60–$23.15 per hour.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, entering data, and ensuring proper processing of samples. Training and benefits are provided; annual bonus potential exists. Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma, phlebotomy training or certification preferred, and at least one year

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Verify orders by utilizing lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, emails.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics submission and data compilation.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and related records.
• Complete training courses timely.
