Quest Diagnostics Inc. seeks a Phlebotomist I for a part-time role in Babylon, NY. Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:30 AM–10:30 AM and Saturday 6:30 AM–12:00 PM. Pay range is $24.00–$28.04 per hour, with performance bonuses possible.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, data entry, order verification, and non-patient tasks. Part-time benefits are offered after 20+ hours weekly. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent; medical training preferred and phlebotomy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.

Responsabilités

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain ID and enter billing information, collect payments as required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, sanitation, filing, phones, emails.
• Read, understand and comply with policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
• Complete training courses online and in-person.

Job Description

Phlebotomist I Part-Time – Babylon, NY, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Saturday, 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Pay range: $24.00 - $28.04 / hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data; required for success in this role.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform all non‑patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and utilizing email as appropriate.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (e.g., maintenance logs, temperature logs).
• Complete online and in‑person training courses in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
