Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist to support a busy nephrology lab in Omaha. You will collect and process blood samples, label specimens, and maintain accurate patient data in the LIS/EHR systems while adhering to PPE guidelines and safety policies.

The role requires attention to detail, safety consciousness, and strong teamwork to ensure timely, accurate results and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience or ASCP certification preferred.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in data entry and laboratory procedures preferred.
• Willingness to adjust schedule/shift to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of a Phlebotomist to assist in the daily workload by performing assigned tasks.
• Process specimens to ensure accurate and timely test results per policies.
• Label specimens and order documents using proper patient identification techniques.
• Enter patient information in the laboratory information system to ensure timely reports to caregivers.
