  • Maintain records and perform equipment/area decontamination.
  • Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and department procedures.
  • Attend required annual training.
  • Update patient information and respond to inquiries by phone.
  • Read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries and troubleshoot workflow.

Duration: 3+ months

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist I will perform blood draws and specimen collection while ensuring accurate labeling, processing, documentation, and handling of specimens. The role also involves troubleshooting, maintaining workflow, and supporting a fast‑paced laboratory or hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
  • Verify laboratory requisitions and patient information for accuracy.
  • Properly explain the blood draw and specimen collection process to patients.
  • Ensure specimens are stored and transported at the appropriate temperature.
