Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Richland, WA, is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule. This role requires a state phlebotomy license (NHA licenses are not accepted in WA).

The position offers pay ranging from $21.60 to $23.15 per hour, with eligibility for annual bonus based on performance, and a benefits package including medical coverage from day one for eligible FT staff, retirement plans, and education assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information, collecting payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport preparation.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing and answering phones.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses timely.

Pay range: $21.60 - $23.15 / hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:

Job Accountabilities (Responsibilities)

• Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, Client contact, and approved tools.
• Ability to navigate a computer and accurately enter data is a requirement to be successful in this role.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Processing specimens including: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform all non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and utilizing email as appropriate.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in person training courses timely.

Qualifications:

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
