Job summary

Actalent in Houston, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist I for a 13-week contract to join a leading healthcare laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture, collect and label specimens, and support processing and testing in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy of patient data, maintaining records, and providing clear explanations to patients while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The role is onsite in Houston with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
• Experience performing 30+ blood draws per day.
• Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
• Experience with specimen labeling, centrifuging, and processing.
• Comfortable working with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

We are looking for an experienced Phlebotomist who enjoys working directly with patients and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality specimen collection services. If you have strong venipuncture skills and experience in a fast-paced clinical environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

• Perform blood draws using venipuncture, straight needles, and butterfly needles
• Collect, label, and process blood and other specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing, storage, and transportation

• Work with patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations
• Enter patient information and maintain accurate records
• Provide excellent customer service and explain procedures clearly to patients

What We’re Looking For

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
