Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Inc in Hercules, CA is hiring a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens and support testing workflows. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. A state phlebotomy license is required to qualify.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Identify patients, enter billing information, and collect payments as required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient-facing duties (inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, using email).
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (e.g., maintenance and temperature logs) in a timely manner.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.

Overview

Phlebotomist I – Hercules, CA. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with rotational Saturdays 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This position requires a state phlebotomy license. Note: Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, or NV.

Pay range: $24.10 – $28.75 per hour.

Salary offers are based on factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.
