Baptist Health in La Grange, Kentucky, is seeking a Phlebotomist responsible for obtaining patient specimens through various techniques including venous and capillary methods. Responsibilities include verifying patient identification, maintaining specimen integrity using aseptic techniques, and processing laboratory specimens with accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy experience or be a graduate from an accredited phlebotomy program, alongside a high school diploma or equivalent. Baptist Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining specimen patients via venous, capillary or finger sticks. The phlebotomist verifies patient identification and explains sampling process to the patient. The phlebotomist verifies patient identification prior to collection. Additionally, the phlebotomist maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic techniques, following department or special procedures. The phlebotomist is responsible for processing reference laboratory specimens, completing orders accurately, billing proper patient accounts, processing manual laboratory reports and assisting in any additional duties within the department.
Phlebotomy experience or successful completion of Phlebotomy training in an accredited Phlebotomy program preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
