Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina Health Florence Medical Center is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist in Florence, SC. The role draws and collects blood samples, verifies records, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Shifts include 2nd (11am-9:30pm) and 3rd (9:30pm-7:30am) with weekends rotating.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. BLS or CPR certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have 250+ sticks for application consideration.
• Career Ladder position; internal candidates must meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements.
• External candidates must complete Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements within 90 days in position.
• BLS or CPR certification required; if not, certification must be obtained within 30 days of Hire.

Job Description

Draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. May prick finger to draw blood. May conduct interviews, take vital signs, and draw and test blood samples to screen donors at blood bank
