Job summary

ProMedica Flower Hospital in Ohio is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to collect specimens and perform testing while caring for patients before, during and after collection. You will perform pre-analytic tasks including centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution and packaging.

The role requires familiarity with test names/abbreviations and cross-referencing tests to specimen types, plus adherence to asepsis/antisepsis principles and leadership to train new associates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy training diploma or 1 year phlebotomy experience.
• Clinical rotation in hospital setting (3+ weeks).
• Professional registration preferred (PBT(ASCP)).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and perform testing while caring for patients before, during and after collection.
• Conduct pre-analytic tasks (sample preparation, centrifugation, decanting, distribution, packaging).
• Use QA data to improve services and address quality issues.
• Cross-reference tests to specimen types and follow test abbreviations.
• Assist in training new associates or students and uphold asepsis/antisepsis standards.
