Job summary

LabCorp in Huntsville, AL seeks a Float Phlebotomist to join the team. Schedule Mon–Fri with hours varying 6:00am–6:00pm and rotating Saturdays. You will collect blood, handle specimens, enter data, and support billing while traveling to sites as needed.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in phlebotomy or a phlebotomy certification; a valid driver's license is also needed and being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 may be required where permitted by law.

• 2+ years phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred or required if no work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely into systems.
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Huntsville AL

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 6:00am-6:00pm and rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.

• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary

• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

• Maintain patient and specimen information logs

• Provide superior customer service to all patients

• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary

• Travel to additional sites when needed

This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Subject to applicable law, all prospective hires will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for medical or religious accommodations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

• 2 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently or in a team environment

• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation

• Be at least 21 years’ old
