Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist - Float to join our Mishawaka, Indiana team. The role covers northern Indiana, including Mishawaka, South Bend, Goshen, and Angola, with varying early-to-late shifts.

You will perform blood collections, collect specimens for various tests, and ensure accurate data entry and billing support. A solid phlebotomy background and strong customer service are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year or more phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training required/preferred.
• Strong customer service and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 6:45am-6:00pm and rotating Saturdays; this position will cover northern Indiana to include the cities of Mishawaka, South Bend, Goshen and Angola.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent 1 year of more of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Benefits

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Float Incentive: Additional $2.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
