Job summary

Labcorp in Pomona, NY is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team. This on-site role involves blood collection, specimen preparation, data entry and billing support across multiple sites.

The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED and 6+ months of phlebotomy experience; 1+ year preferred. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent and at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
• Preferred: 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• Be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Pomona, NY.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 6:30am - 3:00pm and rotating Saturdays 7:00am - 1:00pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent 6 months or more of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards:

• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication (listening, verbal, and written)
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years old

Pay Range:

$17.60 - $30.41 per hour

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Float Incentive:

Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Benefits:

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
