Job summary

Labcorp in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team. Schedule Monday–Friday with hours varying between 6:00am–6:00pm and rotating Saturdays. Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, and data entry, with travel to additional sites as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; one year of phlebotomy experience preferred. A phlebotomy certification or accredited training is required if no prior work experience.

• Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited training program required in lieu of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately into the system and maintain logs.
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis; maintain specimen logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites when required.

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

• Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
• Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
