Job summary

Labcorp in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages, travel to additional sites as needed, and provide outstanding patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Phlebotomy certification or training or 3+ months phlebotomy experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Pass color blindness test; valid driver’s license; 21+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, potential rotating Saturdays Shifts may start as early as 7am and end as late as 6pm

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 years or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
