Job summary

Universal Health Services' Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX is seeking a qualified phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. This role performs routine blood draws and collects venous and capillary specimens, supporting bedside testing and clerical duties for outpatients.

Under supervision, you will respond to codes as needed, maintain specimen integrity, and collaborate with a professional team. ASCP certification is preferred but not required; travel between facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED, or highest level of education. Training and certification from National Committee for Lab Standards phlebotomy program preferred. Previous experience preferred.
• ASCP certified as Phlebotomist desired, but not required. Must be able to commute between facilities in a timely manner. Proof of High School Diploma or equivalent required on hire.
• Must have the ability to read, write and learn a computer system. Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in obtaining laboratory specimens from all age groups. Must have good verbal communication and listening skills. Must have commitment to team operation with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine blood drawing procedures including but not limited to proper collection of venous and capillary specimens.
• Respond to hospital codes as necessary as well as bedside testing per physician orders.
• Assist in clerical duties and processing of outpatients.
