Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Fully understands physicians' orders.
• Matches requisition forms to tubes and handles labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
• Stores specimen samples according to required temperature.
