Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a phlebotomist for a contract opportunity with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is M-F, 8:00am–5:00pm, with an estimated duration of about 3 months.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and accurate data recording while complying with OSHA regulations and hospital standards. Minimum 1 year diagnostic phlebotomy experience and a valid state phlebotomy certification are required. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; explains venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensures 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures; follow protocols for transport to maintain specimen integrity.
