Opportunity
As a One Medical Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant (internally known as Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist) at one of our offices, you’ll provide an exceptional experience for our patients and help them accomplish an important part of their care journey by performing venipuncture and other clinical support services. You will be an ambassador for patients with mastery of human connection and a strong drive for service, removing barriers to care and ensuring the office lobby reflects the One Medical brand.
Responsibilities
- Use C‑I‑CARE framework in all patient interactions, ensuring a positive in‑office experience through intake, same‑day scheduling, follow‑up, billing knowledge, and patient feedback monitoring.
- Provide best‑in‑class venipuncture services for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, depending on office location.
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non‑blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, and vitals.
- Maintain high standards of in‑office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
- Support members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties, including biometric screening forms, medical record review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting.
- Complete all front‑of‑house duties including check‑in/check‑out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork, test preparation, and service‑level expectation tasks.
- Contribute to team development through rounding, attending huddles, participating in problem solving, and supporting providers with ad‑hoc asks.
- Perform opening and closing duties, maintaining look and feel of patient and employee spaces, restocking supplies, and organization.
- Master the technology suite, including Slack, G‑suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and the Electronic Medical Record System.
Qualifications
- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment.
- Strong customer service skills, establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, internet navigation, and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi‑disciplinary teams; remote team experience a plus.
- Confidence and trust instillation during the collection process while delivering individualized, human‑centered care.
- Track record of persisting through change, stepping up to action on challenges, and learning quickly when faced with new situations.
Compensation & Shift Schedule
The hourly rate for this role is $24 to $26, based on a standard full‑time schedule. Total compensation packages may be based on factors unique to particular candidates and may include benefits.
This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week) with 8‑hour shifts typically from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am–7:00 pm, based in person at the NoMad office in Manhattan, NY.
