Software Placement Group is seeking a Phlebotomist to support laboratory operations in Norfolk, NE. This contract, full-time, on-site role offers exposure to a broad patient population and potential permanent placement.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of phlebotomy experience, can draw blood from patients of all ages, and will follow physician orders and specimen handling procedures accurately.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Experience drawing blood from patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and other specimen collection on patients of all ages.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand and follow physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperature.
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures.
• Update patient information and collect/store specimens according to established procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations.

Overview

A healthcare services provider is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to support its laboratory operations in Norfolk, NE. What you'll do
