Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position based in North Charleston, SC. The role requires performing blood draws, specimen labeling, and data entry with strict workflow and safety standards. You will travel to multiple SC sites, including Mt.

Pleasant and Summerville, and may be eligible for permanent placement. Shift: 6am-5pm, Mon-Fri; 3-month duration with potential for perm.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required in some states.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel between specified SC locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, and maintaining data.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match requisitions to specimens and ensure correct labeling.
• Package and transport specimens; maintain specimen integrity.
• Comply with OSHA/DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer phone inquiries and relay lab results as needed.

Travel

This is a float position and candidate will need to travel to Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, SC, Goose Creek, SC, Summerville, SC, Walterboro, SC requires a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Mileage expenses paid.

Summary of Responsibilities

• The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.Position Responsibilities:Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.


• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.


• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as requiredDemonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.


• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.


• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.


• Package specimens for transport


• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.


• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings


• Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Minimum

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
