Job summary

PCL Alverno in Lafayette, IN is seeking a phlebotomy-focused team member for Outreach Phlebotomy Services at the Alverno PSC Greater Lafayette location. The role supports patient collection, specimen handling, and data entry in a healthcare network.

The position is full-time 0.9 FTE with shifts Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM and occasional Saturday hours, plus weekend/holiday rotation. Some travel and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training required.
• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• May be required to travel/drive to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform laboratory office duties.
• Register patients and enter data into the computer system; specimen accessioning, phone calls, and paperwork.
• Prepare specimens for testing and/or for sending to central or reference laboratories.
• May drive and participate in on‑call rotation as required.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for collection of blood specimens, for performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. Laboratory office duties will include registering patients, accurately and completely entering all necessary data into the computer system, specimen accessioning, answering telephone calls, and processing paperwork. Specimen processing duties will include preparation of specimens for testing and/or for sending to the central laboratory or to a reference laboratory. In some facilities this individual, as required, will act as a driver and participate in the on-call rotation.
