Job summary

OneBlood in Missouri is seeking a phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy and collection procedures on donors, following FDA and AABB standards and internal policies. You will handle whole blood and blood components in mobile or fixed settings.

You will obtain medical history and vitals, ensure safety, provide excellent service, and assist with donor recruitment. Strong reading/writing, teamwork, and computer skills with Microsoft Office are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, understand and follow safety and procedure documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to organize work for timely completion.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Overview

Performs phlebotomy and collection procedures and processes related to the collection of whole blood (and/or blood components) from donors according to the organization’s policies and procedures, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) standards.

Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens. Employee will experience close/small work spaces on mobile unit buses. Vibration and motion are common on mobile unit buses. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
