Job summary

Labcorp in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Patient Service Center. You will perform skilled specimen collections, provide exceptional customer service, and be the face of Labcorp. This role offers growth opportunities within the organization.

The position requires phlebotomy certification or training, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Overtime flexibility and reliable transportation are expected.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Schedule

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am- 5pm hours may vary, rotating Saturday shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients

• Travel to additional sites when needed
• Reliable transportation required
• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed Phlebotomy training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work in a Patient Service Center. • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.75-$27.69
